UNDER COVER AND IN FRESHWATER. NO GENERATOR. DOCKSIDE POWER ONLY. Wellcraft got it right in 1998 with the introduction of the 3000Martinique, a good-looking family express with roomyaccommodations and a good turn of speed. Shes built on a solidfiberglass modified-V hull, and her generous 10’6″ beam results inan expansive, user-friendly layout in both the cockpit and cabin.Like most express cruisers in this size range, the Martinique has a
traditional mid-cabin floorplan designed to meet the cruising needsof four adults and two kids. Privacy curtains separate the fore andaft sleeping areas from the salon and locating the refrigeratorunder the forward dinette seat increased galley storage. Topside, the drivers side of the double-wide helm flips up to form a bolsterfor stand-up driving. Cockpit amenities include a wet bar with sinkand ice maker, transom shower, and removable cockpit table. An electrically operated hatch in the cockpit sole lifts to reveal aroomy engine compartment. On the downside, the swim platformis narrow compared with newer express boats. A good performerwith twin 280hp I/Os, the 3000 Martinique will cruise in the mid 20’s and top 40.
